In response to this matter, Sampuran Singh filed a court application. According to the first order, the compensation amount was increased from Rs.25 lakh to Rs.50 lakh… eventually reaching more than Rs.1.47 crore. The petition for this claim was filed in 2012. Jaspal Verma of the District and Sessions Court in Punjab ordered the attachment of the train at Ludhiana station in 2017 because the railway had not made payment.
