Huw Edwards Leaked Pic and Photos: BBC presenter Huw Edwards has been named in connection with allegations that he paid a teenager over £35,000 for explicit pictures. Edwards’ wife, Vicky Flind, issued a statement on his behalf, revealing that he is currently receiving in-patient hospital care for serious mental health issues. She requested privacy for their family and mentioned that Edwards intends to respond to the allegations once he is well enough. The BBC initially reported that Edwards had resigned, but later clarified that he had not quit.
The Metropolitan Police stated that there was no information suggesting a criminal offense had occurred. Following this announcement, the BBC confirmed that they would resume their fact-finding investigations, while also emphasizing their duty of care to all involved.
The BBC later disclosed that Edwards is facing additional allegations of inappropriate behavior towards colleagues at the BBC. Edwards, a prominent newsreader, currently earns a salary of over £430,000. He has presented the BBC News at Ten program multiple times since the allegations were reported in May.
According to The Sun newspaper, Edwards, referred to as a “household name,” is accused of providing a significant sum of money to a young person. The alleged requests for explicit images reportedly began in 2020 when the individual was 17 years old. It is also claimed that Edwards appeared in his underwear during a video call with the now 20-year-old.
The young person’s mother expressed shock when her child showed her a screenshot suggesting that Edwards was preparing for the child to perform for him. The BBC has suspended Edwards and stated that they take all allegations seriously, maintaining robust internal processes to address such matters.
The young person’s family contacted The Sun after feeling frustrated by Edwards’ continued presence on air, a month after they had made their complaint.
