How Think Orange Curriculum Can Revolutionize Family Ministry

    JustinBy JustinAugust 17, 2023No Comments5 Mins Read

Think Orange’s clever use of color is a helpful reminder that church and family must work together to influence children. It is why they focus on educating parents so they can continue the spiritual conversations with their children at home.

Thousands of churches have partnered with the Orange strategy and curriculum. Discover a powerful way to connect with families with our customizable app and affordable media package.

    Integrate with the Home

If one thing has made the think Orange curriculum popular, it emphasizes family ministry. The curriculum helps to bridge the gap between church and home by encouraging families to continue the faith conversations started in church. It encourages an authentic relationship with God while building strong community bonds, fostering faith, and creating discipleship networks.

However, it is essential to note that the idea of synergy between church and family does not necessarily imply that the church should replace family in the role of religious instruction. Both parties must work together to bring about spiritual transformation in the lives of children and teens. This is not a mere suggestion but a necessary action that needs to be taken.

While the use of color to show that ministering to children is neither yellow (the responsibility of the church) nor red (carried out by the family alone) but Orange (both church and family working together) makes sense, some of his ideas are a little controversial. Unfortunately, a dangerous and unbiblical view is becoming more common in churches.

Thankfully, many biblical alternatives to the Orange approach can help revive the family and encourage an authentic relationship with God.

    Reactivate the Family

The church has tried imparting faith to kids through various programs for years.

To do this, Orange provides many resources for churches to help parents share the gospel with their children. For example, the curriculum has a parent cue app that follows the lessons and helps families with weekly family devotions. It’s an excellent way for parents to make the gospel relevant to their home life.

It also focuses on helping parents celebrate milestones like baby dedication, baptism, and graduation. The curriculum even offers resources to help parents share about these events with their friends.

In addition, the Orange strategy is focused on creating experiences that connect with kids and teens. It includes live events, digital ministry training, and an engaging curriculum. For example, the XP3 middle school and high school curriculums provide age-appropriate content for students. And the curriculum teaches kids to think about their spiritual journey and how their faith impacts others. It is a big part of helping them build an authentic, everyday faith that will last. It will help them prepare to take their next steps and serve Jesus wherever they go.

    Elevate Community

Orange aims to help churches align with parents, providing experiences and curriculum that bring together the influence of church and home because two combined voices are more powerful than one. The program begins with preschool and goes through high school, including a parenting app to help keep families connected to the weekly lessons.

The curriculum includes a variety of ways to engage children and teenagers, using videos, music, creative games, and unique communication tools. It also focuses on social-emotional learning, which helps kids learn how to deal with stress and build resilient relationships in the face of difficulties.

Parents, grandparents, and guardians have more time than the average church leader, so churches must partner with them to share God’s word. That’s why the Orange curriculum includes parent cue, an easy-to-use mobile app that synchronizes with the weekly curriculum and provides ideas for spiritual conversations at bedtime, during meals, while driving, etc.

The curriculum also aims to support the family through a yearly plan, which helps churches celebrate essential milestones like baby dedications, entering kindergarten, baptism, graduation, and more. It also creates resources for parents, including a blog, podcast, and an app to reinforce the lessons taught in church each week.

    Leverage Influence

Orange Curriculum is an organization that strives to help churches change how they approach kids’ ministry. They have extensive resources that help leaders and families connect with Jesus and build a strong foundation for family life. Their vision is to influence those who influence the next generation, and they have built four distinct communities of resources to help equip church leaders with various topics.

Their curriculum for preschoolers through students provides engaging and relevant content that focuses on the whole child. They promote an experiential learning environment and encourage parents to engage their children in discussing their spiritual faith. They also offer suggestions to help parents build a strong connection between their kids and God at home by creating a spiritual habit of prayer in the family.

Unlike many other church curriculum providers, Think Orange focuses on integrating the home and the church to form a stronger foundation for kids and teens. They know that parents have more time and influence with their kids than the church, so they want to empower parents to leverage their impact on the lives of the next generation. Using their curriculum and parent engagement app, parents cue, they help parents to instill an “everyday” faith in their children that they can grow with throughout their lifetime.
